Shorts!

I've been working on music for two wonderful short films recently.

The first, In the Garage, is a documentary about entrepreneurs in California's Silicon Valley trying to realize their dreams. Some of my favorite parts of the score feature solo blues guitar.

The second, Flashes, is an experimental narrative film shot in Hong Kong. The lush cinematography and vivid colors have inspired a truly eclectic score featuring various ethnic instruments (like a Hill Tribe naw from thailand, Middle Eastern udu and others), eerie electric guitars, processed piano, vocals and electronics.

The films (and their scores) are worlds apart, but I'm very excited to see how they both turn out! Stay tuned for updates on these projects.

City of Borders

"City of Borders" is a documentary that I scored along with Jonathan Zalben about a gay bar in Israel that is a meeting place for both Palestinians and Israelis. It picked up a Teddy award at the Berlin Film Fest and will be making it's US debut at the San Francisco International Film Fest starting on April 26th. It will then play at Hot Docs in Toronto on May 3rd and 4th.

I also recorded guitar solos for Jonathan's original score to "Gods of Circumstance", starring John Schneider. The film is being screened at the opening night of the British Film Fest of LA on May 3rd at 6pm.
