THE PACT to premiere at Sundance 2012

Happy to announce that Nicholas McCarthy’s feature directorial debut, The Pact, starring Caity Lotz will premiere at Sundance this month!

It was a privilege to work on the music with Nick and his team– especially after scoring the short film version just last year!

The feature score features the amazing talents (yet again) of Anna Bulbrook on solo violin and Dan Tepfer on piano as well as an assortment of homemade instrument concoctions– from washing machines to margarita glasses, radiators and beyond.

UPDATE: The Pact was picked up at Sundance by IFC MIDNIGHT and will receive a theatrical release! Details here.

“Hooked”, Sundance Lab press and more

Very happy to announce Hooked — a fast paced, and I must admit, quite addictive game for Facebook! I wrote a couple orchestral tunes for this one, and you can play online now here .

In other news, the International Documentary Association asked me and director Angad Bhalla to contribute an article to Documentary Magazine about our experiences at the Sundance Composer + Documentary Lab this past summer. The piece looks great in print, but you can also read it online.

I recently scored the short film Atonal directed by Derrick Hausen. It’s a moving story about a man’s relationship with his aging father, and the imagery is stunning– without taking a cue from the film’s title, the music is a textured re-imagining of some film noir scores, and features guitars and Armenian duduk.

Gratitude by Cyrus Mirakhor continues its festival run. I’m really proud of this score featuring Ljova & The Kontraband. The film recently won best comedy short at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival and can be seen next at the San Jose Short Film Festival .

Some more exciting news is in the works, stay tuned!
