The Dreams of Sparrows, Ronen’s third feature length documentary score, is quickly heading towards DVD distribution and a May release in stores and online. TheHarbinger Productions film captures life in reconstruction-era Iraq from the vantage point of Iraqi filmmakers. Information on purchasing this historic documentary will be available on this site, along with information on screenings, soundtrack CDs and future collaborations with Harbinger producer Aaron Raskin.

Most recently, Ronen completed the score for Kevin Choi’s film The Moon Please, a family drama set in Manhattan on the morning of September 11th. Check back here for information on festival screenings.

Ronen’s previous collaboration with Kevin, Game Boy, has been well received by festivals such as the 2004 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and the 2004 Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival.

Thanksgiving Day, Ronen’s collaboration with director Michael Sugarman has also been making the festival rounds. So far, it has appeared as an official selection at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Marco Island Film Festival (finalist, Best Student Film), Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (2nd prize, student narrative short competition) and several other fests around the country. Michael has also received a post-production award from Warner Brothers.

After several years of work on the project, Ronen recently completed his chamber suite Strignettes for String Quartet. Check out the sounds page for some samples!
