The Dreams of Sparrows received its world premiere at the prestigious South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival in Austin Texas on March 12th. The premiere was especially exciting because Iraqi director Hayder Daffar was able to travel to the USA from Baghdad in order to attend.
Next, the film will be screening at the Ann Arbor Film Festival on March 20th, and on May 25th as part of the NewFilmmakers series at New York’s Anthology Film Archives.
The Dreams of Sparrows has already received some notable press, including this interview (which includes music from the film) on the BBC‘s radio program The Worldand this Film Threat review.
Update: Director Hayder Daffar received the Most Promising Filmmaker Award at the Ann Arbor Film Festival. Congratulations!
