THE PACT to premiere at Sundance 2012

Happy to announce that Nicholas McCarthy's feature directorial debut, The Pact, starring Caity Lotz will premiere at Sundance this month! It was a privilege to work on the music with Nick and his team-- especially after scoring the short film version just last year! The feature score features the amazing talents (yet again) of Anna Bulbrook on solo violin and Dan Tepfer on piano as well [...]

“Hooked”, Sundance Lab press and more

Very happy to announce Hooked -- a fast paced, and I must admit, quite addictive game for Facebook! I wrote a couple orchestral tunes for this one, and you can play online now here .   In other news, the International Documentary Association asked me and director Angad Bhalla to contribute an article to Documentary Magazine about our experiences at the Sundance Composer + Documentary Lab [...]

Sundance Composers + Documentary Lab and recent highlights

I've just returned from the Sundance Composers + Documentary Lab in Utah. It was an inspiring week full of nature and creative work-- I collaborated closely with filmmakers Angad Bhalla and Ricardo Acosta on their upcoming film Herman's House alongside creative advisors Vivien Hillgrove, Peter Golub, Jon Else,Martin Bresnick and Cara Mertes. Read the IndieWire Article. I recently scored Gratitude, a surreal dark comedy by director [...]

“Festival of Light” and more

Greetings from the left coast! Recent weeks have been incredibly exciting as I've been scoring the independent feature drama Festival of Light (that's Diwali, not Hanukka), directed by Shundell Prasad.   The music has evolved into a beautiful mix of ethnic and cinematic elements, with a palette drawn from South America, Southeast Asia and guitar-driven rock accompanied by a lush string orchestra.  It's hard to encapsulate [...]

“Life”, the Universe and Everything

I'm excited to announce that the upcoming series Life on Discovery Channel will feature some of my original music. When I saw the original Planet Earth series, I couldn't help but think about how great it would be to compose an orchestral score for such beautiful natural images-- needless to say I'm thrilled to have contributed to the sequel. You can see the series starting March [...]
